Emily West & Taylor Williamson from “America’s Got Talent”

The “America’s Got Talent Live: The All Stars Tour” comes to the Chicago Theatre this Thursday, October 8.  We visited with two of the performers, host and stand-up comic Taylor Williamson and singer Emily West.  Taylor talked about hosting a variety show vs. an evening of stand-up and why the show is family-friendly despite his being frequently without pants.  Emily talked about her song selection and fights over bunks on the bus.

Piff The Magic Dragon

Piff The Magic Dragon is a Las Vegas-based entertainer and is arguably the #1 performing magic dragon in the world.  Recently he was a recipient of the “Golden Buzzer” from guest judge Neil Patrick Harris on “America’s Got Talent” and advanced directly to the finals.  We discussed his early magic tricks & comedy magic influences, why his trusty sidekick Mr. Piffles was unavailable for his initial appearance on AGT, and his experience opening for Mumford & Sons (and why he could never open for Paul McCartney).

Cris Judd, Dance Scout for “America’s Got Talent”

Cris Judd has signed on as the Dance Scout for NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” now holding auditions for the upcoming 10th season.  We discussed his dancing career (including performing with Michael Jackson!), what he looks for in a dancer, and how the talent pool seems stronger than ever heading into season 10.  Auditions are being held in Chicago at McCormick place on January 24th & 25th.
