Maria Thayer on her new series “Those Who Can’t”

Maria Thayer is a very funny comedian actress who’s appeared on TV shows like “30 Rock” and “Arrested Development” and had some very memorable scenes in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”  She’s now starring in a new comedy series for truTV, “Those Who Can’t.” We discussed our mutual background as members of our respective high school forensics teams, sugar addictions, and Michael Madsen’s poetry.

Jennifer Bartels & Lil Rel Howery are two of the stars, writers and executive producers of the TruTV sketch comedy series “Friends of the People,” which has its mid-season premiere Thursday night at 10:30/9:30CT.  We discussed how the group came together, why choosing a name is difficult no matter what you’re choosing it for, their writing process, and how they’ve put their own unique spin on a sketch comedy show.

“Q” and “Murr” from “Impractical Jokers”

Brian “Q” Quinn and James “Murr” Murray are two members of comedy troupe “The Tenderloins,” and they are also two of the creators, executive producers, writers and stars of “Impractical Jokers,” returning for its 4th season on TruTV January 29th.   We talked about their version of a kinder, gentler, more affectionate hidden camera prank show, what fans can expect on their live tour, and how close they are to turning the show into a major motion picture.
