Andrew Zimmern

Andrew Zimmern, award-winning host of “Bizarre Foods” on Travel Channel, called in along with Jennifer Kaleba from No Kid Hungry to discuss how we can eat out and make our meals count in September by dining at participating restaurants that will donate a portion of the proceeds to No Kid Hungry.  We also talked about the shamefulness of having a culture that’s more aware of food than ever (courtesy of so many food-related tv shows) but still struggles to feed all of its people, especially children.

Josh Gates from “Expedition Unknown”

Josh Gates is the host of the Travel Channel series “Expedition Unknown,” which is back with all-new episodes Wednesday nights at 9/8c.  Josh was calling live on location all the way from the Philippines,  where it was almost tomorrow when we spoke.  We discussed this week’s new episode about Robin Hood, how some myths and legends are actually living and evolving things, and why he should consider doing a show about the little-known legends of L.A. so he can stay home for a while.

Andrew Zimmern on new episodes of “Bizarre Foods”

“Bizarre Foods” returns for its 9th season (where it will pass the 200 episode mark) Monday, September 28th at 8CT on Travel Channel.  We chatted with host Andrew Zimmern about the season premiere (in which he is personally involved in regime change in Guatemala) and how his mission for the show remains consistent (why it’s much more than just “fat white guy goes around eating”).

Kari Byron and Tory Belleci on their new show “Thrill Factor”

Adam Richman on Season 2 of “Food Fighters”

Adam Richman called in to discuss season 2 of “Food Fighters,” premiering tonight at 8/7C on NBC.  We talked about the new twists this season, how the quality of home cooks (especially kids!) is higher than ever, and why he won’t be hosting a star-studded 4th of July celebrity barbecue.

Anthony Melchiorri from “Hotel Impossible”

Anthony and I chatted about the upcoming new season of “Hotel Impossible” on the Travel Channel, how to get a great hotel deal online, and why, when given the choice, you should always select the “no bedbugs” option.
