Scott Ian

Scott Ian from Anthrax returned to the show  to talk about his new book Access All Areas: Stories From a Rock Hard Life. We discussed how the book is not a sequel to I’m the Man (since that would require writing a second autobiography, an absurd yet interesting thought), telling an honest version of tales of debauchery, and his most requested story (involving Lemmy and a pair of Daisy Dukes).

Rick Ernst

Rick Ernst is the producer and director of “Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal,” which is now out on DVD in a special encore edition.  We discussed the evolution of thrash metal, being a part of the “zine” scene (and how Lars Ulrich referred to it as the “Internet of the ’80s), and why many of the thrash metal albums sound timeless (hint: no gated snare drum).
