JJ Johnson from “Annedroids”

JJ Johnson is the creator of the popular kids TV science series “Annedroids,” which returns for its 4th season this Friday on Amazon Prime Video.  We discussed the show’s success (tying Sesame Street for most 2016 Emmy nominations), why it took so long for networks to accept a girl scientist as a lead character, and how kids are more perceptive than we give them credit for.

Saffron Burrows

It was a pleasure to chat with Saffron Burrows about  her award-winning series “Mozart In the Jungle,” which returns for Season 3 this Friday on Amazon Prime Video.  We discussed how she learned the cello for this role, the accuracy of symphony musician interaction depicted in the program, spending time in Chicago, and why we’re both awake at 4 in the morning.

Jorge Diaz

Jorge Diaz is featured in the new Amazon Prime Video animated special “Lost In Oz: Extended Adventure,” voicing the character of “Ojo,” a half-munchkin who helps Dorothy on her adventures.  We discussed how he developed the voice of the character, working with the talented voice cast, and how I still am hesitant to dig out my old VHS tapes because of his movie “Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.”
