Vanessa Williams is a Tony and Emmy nominated actress, a Grammy nominated singer, a best-selling author, a designer, and a busy mom.  Vanessa called in to share some tips on squeezing in some last minute summer fun.  We also talked about her recent appearance on “Broad City” and how the kids are bringing the ’80s back whether we like it or not.

Isabelle Fuhrman

You’ve seen Isabelle Fuhrman as the love-struck murderous child in “The Orphan,” in a memorable role in “The Hunger Games,” and as a troubled teen in “Masters of Sex.”  She’s currently starring in a new film, “Dear Eleanor,” which is out now on digital and DVD.  We discussed her most commonly asked “Hunger Games” question, her work on “The Orphan,” and what it was like to play a person her age back in 1962 in “Dear Eleanor.”

Lynn Whitfield is an Emmy Award-winning actress who is currently starring in the new original drama series “Greenleaf,” which premieres tonight at 9c on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.  We discussed the concept of the series, how the amazing cast quickly developed their chemistry, and what it’s like to work with Oprah for the third time.

Dawn Wells

Dawn Wells starred as “Mary Ann” on the legendary sitcom “Gilligan’s Island” and is now the marketing ambassador for the “ME-TV” network, which is airing “Gilligan’s Island” weekdays at 8:30CT as part of the “Summer of Me.”  We talked about the timeless appeal of the series, the importance of shows the whole family can watch together, and the possibilities of coconut radios.  Dawn also shared some of her favorite memories of her fellow cast members.

Lake Bell

Lake Bell called in to talk about her new movie “No Escape,” co-starring Owen Wilson and Pierce Brosnan, which opens nationwide on Friday.   We talked about the real tension and terror she felt while filming, why she was drawn to the role, and the differences in comedic and dramatic timing.  She also called me “the right kind of demented” for my love of “Children’s Hospital.”
