Jeremy Sisto on his new show “Wicked City”

Critically-acclaimed actor Jeremy Sisto called in to talk about his new series “Wicked City,” which airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC.  We discussed his role as an LAPD detective investigating a serial killer in 1982 on LA’s Sunset Strip, how he centers himself to play the character in a specific space and time, and why you should give the show a “True Detective”-like chance to catch on.   Also listen for a brief cameo appearance from Jeremy’s during the interview that could likely result in heart melting.

Chloe Bennet from Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

Chloe Bennet plays Agent Daisy Johnson aka Syke aka Quake on Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” which is now in its third season.  We discussed the changes in her character (which are reflected in, but go far beyond the cutting of her hair), why the series has developed such a loyal fan following, and how issues of identity are certainly not unique to superheroes.

Patricia Heaton

Patricia Heaton is arguably the most popular TV mom of the past two decades, starring in over 200 episodes of “Everybody Loves Raymond” and now approaching 150 of “The Middle.”  We talked about her career, how she’s recognized for different roles in different parts of the world, and why she decided to add 10 hour days to her existing 12 hour days in shooting a new Food Network show, “Patricia Heaton Parties,” which premieres October 24th at 11CT.

Dave Foley

Dave Foley is a comedy legend who starred in the classic TV series “Kids In The Hall” and “Newsradio.”  He’s now featured in Ken Jeong’s new series “Dr. Ken,” where he plays a hospital administrator who is Ken’s nemesis.   We discussed why he’s fine with being called a comedy legend, my favorite Kids In The Hall sketch, how he trained to be a nemesis, and why actually being hired for the part is probably the most important factor in playing a character.

“Dr. Ken” premieres tonight at 7:30CT on ABC-7 Chicago.

Tommy Davidson

Tommy Davidson starred on the legendary comedy series “In Living Color” and is currently featured in the animated series “Black Dynamite” on Adult Swim.  He will be switching places with Corey Feldman on “Celebrity Wife Swap” tomorrow night on ABC.  We discussed how he got involved with the show, what he’d like people to see, and a special time he hosted a party for Michael Jackson.

Sam Palladio is the voice of “Roland” in Disney’s new animated feature “Strange Magic.”  We discussed why Brits are so good at southern accents, how he restrained himself from totally geeking out when meeting George Lucas, and why he hopes he’ll soon be an action figure.

Jon Tenney from “Major Crimes”

Jon Tenney played Fritz Howard for seven seasons on  “The Closer” and continues the role on TNT’s “Major Crimes.”  His character in particular is featured in the two-part season 3 finale, which airs Monday night at 8CT.  We discussed the evolution of his character, the devotion of fans of the series, and how he manages to be on two hit shows at once (he also plays Vice President Nichols on ABC’s “Scandal”).
