Jenny Foss called in to talk about her new book, The Ridiculously Awesome Linkedin Kit. Jenny is an author and career advisor who is best known for her blog at jobjenny.com. She talked about how LinkedIn is essential for for those looking to make a career change, establish valuable networking contacts, and keep one’s big toe in the pool of a particular industry. We also learned why not being on LinkedIn basically means that you’re invisible.
Bill McCormick from the World News Center made his weekly appearance on the show. Today Bill investigated the role of Chicago in the world of super heroes.
The Movieman reviewed Veronica Mars and Need for Speed. I invited him to my Veronica Mars slumber party; he invited me to check out his Six Second Reviews.

After what we were told was a particularly vicious, nasty, unseemly, dastardly, potentially criminal and basically not-at-all-nice “denial of service” attack on our main server, we are now back online.
However, the individual or individuals who decided to have fun poking around in our server left a mess o’ malicious things behind, so we had to strip away a LOT of our archives.
We’ve got folks working tirelessly (okay, they get really super tired, but we’re making pitcher after pitcher of Kool-Aid) to get everything pretty much back the way it was, but this time safer and more secure. In fact, we’re wrapping the whole server in bubble wrap and putting a blanket over it.
Thank you for your patience as we re-build a better website for you. Yes, you (not including the guy/gal/robot who wrecked it. Definitely not you!!).
Rev Run is a motivational speaker, TV host, and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Run DMC’s “Raising Hell” very rarely left the cassette deck of my 1972 Pontiac LeMans Sport Coupe during the summer of 1987. Actually, the car came with an 8-track deck. I had to get one of those adapter things to turn it into a cassette player. Anyway, it was a thrill to chat with Rev Run, who called in to promote diabetes awareness.
Brandi called up the show to chat about her latest book, Drinking & Dating. She was surprisingly funny and easy to talk to. Toward the end of our conversation, I mentioned the fact that it was all over the web that morning that she had been accused of living a scripted life. She hadn’t yet heard the news! Does she not Google herself? How can one not Google oneself? If you don’t Google yourself, who will? Practice regular self-Googling, people!
Giuliana phoned up to plug her pre-Oscar coverage on the E! Network. We talked about how the male nominees are always so predictably dressed, who is likely to have a breakdown during an acceptance speech, and why Ryan Seacrest is so easy to pick on.
Aviva Drescher called into the show to discuss the upcoming season 6 of The Real Housewives of New York City as well as her new memoir, Leggy Blonde.
