Paul O’Neill is a founding member of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, who have just released a new album, “Letters from the Labyrinth,” and are about to embark on a Winter tour, where they will feature a live debut performance of “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve.”  We talked about the serious topics covered on the new album, how to coordinate a live rock show with band members on two separate stages, and why selling out a show in Chicago had a particularly significant meaning.

Warren Zanes, author of “Petty: The Biography”

Warren Zanes is a musician (former member of the Del Fuegos), professor, rock historian and author who has written one of the best rock bios I’ve ever read, “Petty: The Biography.”  Warren was granted unprecedented access for this book and the result is a work of stunning honesty.  We discussed his relationship with Tom, how he was chosen to write it, and how he had to set aside the fan and make room for the biographer.

Rachel DiPillo from “Chicago Med”

Rachel DiPillo plays Dr. Sarah Reese on “Chicago Med,” which premieres tomorrow night at 8 on NBC-5 Chicago.  We talked about how she joined the show, what she did to prepare to play the role of a fourth-year med student, and how the whole Chicago PD/Fire/Med franchise works together.

Jon Mikl Thor on the new “I Am Thor” documentary

Jon Mikl Thor is a former champion bodybuilder turned musician, actor, screenwriter, songwriter and hockey historian.  Jon called in to talk about a new documentary 15 years in making “I Am Thor,” following his return to show business after retiring in 1987.  The film will be screened tonight at Reggie’s Rock Club in Chicago, followed by Jon doing a live set of his music.
